Weekend Math Challenge
Weekend Math Challenge
Here's this weekend's challenge. You have an extra day to complete it! Hand in your solution (show all your work!) on a piece of paper (with your name) to Ms. Earl first thing Monday morning.
There is a total of 16 chickens and rabbits on Zach's farm. The total number of legs (chickens and rabbits) is eqaul to 50. How many chickens and how many rabbits are there? (Hint: Use a table or chart to help).

Canada Research Projects
Each student has chosen a province or territory for their project. We have been using books and the iPads here at school to begin our research, but all students are encouraged to do more research at home. Parents: please make sure your child has enough information about each of the assigned topics. The topics are: Basic Facts, Capital City, Other Major Cities, Natural Resources, Industries and Products, Bird/Flag/Animal/Tree, and Places to Visit. Each topic needs at least 4-5 pieces of information so that sentences can be written for each topic. We will do examples of this in class. Parents can also help with writing sentences.
The final product will be a slide show using Pic Collage on the iPads. Once all the rough work has been completed, the slides can be created. Each slide will have sentences and at least one picture. This will be done at school. Students have the option to use their own device from home and bring it to school.
