Alzheimer's Presentation

The Huron County Alzheimer's Society visited us today for a presentation about Alzheimer's Disease. We learned how the brain sends messages to different parts of our body and how those messages can get mixed up by someone with Alzheimer's. We also talked about short and long term memories and how Alzheimer's affects memory.

Weekend Math Challenge

Zach wants to build a rectangular pen in his backyard for his potbelly pig, Smiley. Zach has 22m of wire mesh for the fence. Zach wants the greatest possible area for the pen.

Draw all the possible rectangles to determine which one will have the greatest area. Be sure to explain your thinking. Your solution is due to Ms. Earl on Monday.
